This shoot featured in Modern Wedding Styling Handbook Magazine Volume 4 (2017/18) with us being listed as one of Australia's Top 25 Stylists.
The shoot was inspired by a mixture of ageless traditions and trends with an elegant, free-spirited bohemian twist on conventional weddings. ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.’ Antique candlesticks mixed with modern marble plates, an earthy colour palette with pale pinks and a hint of blue amongst the white vast salt lakes created the ultimate wedding setting.
The name ‘Blushing Bride’ was chosen because of the accents of blush throughout the picnic display displayed in front of a beautiful canopy. A place for the newlyweds to lounge back and enjoy each other’s company and as the phrase stems from – their first night of true intimacy as Mr & Mrs.
I wanted to create the ultimate intimate setting while still allowing movement for chatter, celebration, dancing and fun!

I chose to incorporate a mixture of natives with soft and delicate blooms like the tulips, peonies and roses. This fusion was a continuation of the styling I had chosen, in mixing the bohemian, Moroccan trends with elegant, soft shabby chic pastels.
The location needed to be a vast, open landscape contributing to the feelings of being unrestricted and having a wedding day that held endless opportunity.
The marble plates were paired with 24ct gold plated cutlery, crystal detailed glassware and blush napkins tied with twine and a white feather embellished with gold. I chose a beige muslin table runner which flowed under antique gold tapered candlesticks and white and pink rose petals. The Moroccan wedding styled blankets underneath the picnic tables were covered in a mixture of beige and coffee tasselled cushions with blush pink smooth cushions to create a mix of the messy Bohemian elements with soft elegance.
The two tiered white chocolate mudcake was a focal piece of our picnic table setting. It was a picture of our colour palette; coffee brown colours showing through its white buttercream icing, adorned in gold dust, with varying shades of blush roses and a ‘Woohoo!’ cake topper to scream the celebration factor.
I imagine this wedding would be perfect for the ladies that want their wedding day to be one big celebration. The type that don’t like to sit in one place at a party because they’re always moving around, talking to friends, dancing and lounging back in comfort. Filled with little details to create a spectacular day, this wedding would suit any bride with a love for elegance while having a bohemian spirit.
